Everytime I take an excursion into Madhya Pradesh, the moment my car passes the barrier and gets into Madhya Pradesh, I raise my fist in joy - MADHYA PRADESH! the land of natural beauty and forests, the land where my forefathers dwelt and eked out their livelihood. On my way back homw, the moment the car gets into Maharashtra territory, I raise my fist and say JAY MAHARASHTRA! For it may be that my forefathers belonged to Madhya Pradesh and so I have a longing in my heart to keep visiting that land, I have been born and brought up in Maharashtra and am a Maharashtrian to the core. So what if my mother tongue is not Marathi? I can speak the beautiful language fluently. When Vidarbha Ranji team plays cricket against Madhya Pradesh or even Rajasthan (my mother hails from that state), I cheer for Vidarbha. I take pride in the fact that Maharashtra - my state - is economically very well off and business prospers here. I also take pride in the fact that the law and order situation is far better in my state than most others and that parochialism has not been able to raise its ugly head too much. Sadly, I may not be able to say this any more.
I need to tell you a few things Mr. Raj Thakeray. The first thing I want to tell you is that I do not like you and the people like you. And actually this statement is an understatement. It may be nearer truth if I say that I despise you, hate you. I believe that maharashtra will be spiritually and intellectually a much richer state if it gets rid of the likes of you. I also believe that economically too Maharashtra will be richer if its people dump the likes of you into the wastebasket of public irrelevance.
Mr. Raj, India is one nation. Anyone in India can live anywhere he/she chooses to live (sadly, Kashmir is an exception). If I choose to live in Maharashtra, you cannot stop me from doing so. On the other hand, if you try to, I believe there are enough laws to stop you. It may take some time, but eventually you will be stopped.
You think that Maharashtra is rich and the other people not belonging to Maharashtra are inundating the state to avail of the economic miracle? Well, yes and no. Yes because that is how the world behaves. People everywhere in the world move to places where there is a promise of development. Steinbeck wrote an entire novel, Grapes of Wrath, on a mass migration of workers to California which was a state perceived to be full of opportunities. But these people, who come over to Maharashtra in search of better propspects, do not just make their lives better. They contribute to the richness of Maharashtra. Remove these people and the economy will crumble. Economy is all about cutting costs. If you do not get cheap labour in the form of these people from other states, you can kiss your prosperity goodbye. The whole business process outsourcing that is making India rich is about cheap labour and the way Maharashtra improves its economy is about the same.
Secondly, Maharashtra is not rich all by itself. Maharashtra manufactures just too much for its own consumption. It is the rest of the Indians who consume what Maharashtra produces. The same is true for other states too. So, if Maharashtra is rich, Raj Thakeray, thank other people of the country for contributing to its richness. Not in the way you are thanking them now. Properly thank them. Your Maharashtra (your Maharashtra and mine are two different entities) won't be rich otherwise.
And if you are unduly proud of your rich state, let me puncture your happiness. Gujarat is rich too. Actually richer than your state. Far better managed too - they have no brutal load shedding such as your state has. If you show your pride by breaking taxis of
bhaiyyas and shops of non-maharashtrians (even breaking their houses now in Nashik!), the Gujaratis have shown their pride in themselves by ploughing money back into their state from whatever business they run abroad. That makes their state richer. And they have not targeted people from other states for eking out a living in Gujarat. You think that Gujarat is populated only by Gujaratis? Just go and look and you will be pleasantly surprised.
If you are unduly proud of your culture, your literature etc., let me tell you that other states are not poorer in this regard. The way you have treated people who speak Hindi, I have half a mind to tell you how rich is Hindi literature and the culture of states speaking Hindi. That is my mother tongue Raj Thakeray and I am proud of that. As proud as I am of being a Maharashtrian. But if you think that the two are contradictory - to be a Maharashtrian my mother tongue must be Marathi and mere fluency in the language will not do - let me tell you that you are a villain.
Raj Thakeray, I returned to maharashtra only today from Madhya Pradesh. As I crossed into the Maharashtra border, I raised my fist as usual. But I did not say JAY MAHARASHTRA. I did not have the heart to say it. And why did I feel that my fist was lossely made? Half-hearted? There was a gap between the fingers that cannot be there in a real full-hearted fist. And air entered the gaps and created horribly out of tune whistles.

Thanks to Munir Bhair for working to safeguard the greater interests of the secular public and respecting the sanctity of human life irrespective of their caste, creed or any other divisive hateful partisan communal faultlines unlike the islamic thug, abu azmi.
I find it hard to be neutral about this most sensitive of issues - the islamic hordes illegitimately if not illegally occupying the Hindu homelands and committing the most heinous of attrocities under the very nose of the govt of Maharashtra and Union Govt of UPA.
The particular stance I take from point of view of the secular public hold is meant to eradicate some of the pernicious and insidious violence on the greater civil society and their leaders like Raj Thakeray. Violence is worse than hate in some sense. That hatred is finding expression in the hateful language that get used against RajT. It has the backing from both the sinister islamic attackers (not only via the ugly media) and the secular clowns who carry the islamic vicious campaign to perpetuate colonialism. Such hateful venom targets any mutinous uprising like that of MNS in opposition to subjugation of Hindus to second class status in their own Holy Lands.
None of the secular public or their leaders is vocal about why we muslims are still here in India despite the fact that we were given two homelands with tons of money (crores of 1947 value). They see no conflict between our religion and our nationality. The public are not suspicious of us nor subject us to any scrutiny though themselves being somewhat of an uncomfortable (if not outright unsafe) existence in their own mother land, nay Holy Land, Hindustan.
Given the sort of millennium long existential islamic theat to Hindu survival, I pledge my full support to anyone working to end social injustice, hatred and violence bloodied by islamic conflict and their venoumous savagery - not only to damage India's image but also to weaken its economy, de-stabilize social order, deny political space to the likes of RajT and marginalize such great leaders who form the resistance force like the French resistance against the occupying nazis of Paris.

Thanks to secular pimps, secular eunuchs, secular savage like azmi is threatening the authorities and govt with mafia type intimidation:=
"I would like to tell the government that if 20 lakh Muslims pour onto the streets, it will be very
difficult to control the situation," Azmi told reporters "...the police station should be built in a
cosmopolitan area where there is a mix of Hindus and Muslims. The present location has 100 percent Muslim population," he said - meaning he has demarcated a no-go zone where ppl like u cant enter - not even the cops !!!!

With ppl like u, no surprise India is fast becoming unsafe and insecure!!! I hoped u'd see reason!! But u didnt!!! Ie why I respect ppl like Erad-ji!!!! {I never asked for his real name b/c it is irrelevant!!!}
U have disgraced urself, ur edn, ur family...etc. etc. undermining national security and public safety....Maybe 1 bil ppl should curse u for ur lack of humanity and decency on ur part towards the secular public !!!

Thanks Enigma.
Your comment came at the most opportune time. The comments on this post are continuing and lately, this post has become the battlefield for bloggers like Erad, Munir.Akram, Fareena Raza etc. who are spewing venom. I tried to be civil but they have called me all sorts of names by now. Not that I mind it - their reaction is a sign of their utter frustration and deformed minds. But sometimes you get low thinking whether these are the only type of people remaining in India?
Thanks for your comments.
Regards.

Dear Avinashjee
First of all I'd like to thank u for writing such an evoking write. I am simply out of words after reading this...may be its so complete in itself that it need not any comment or appreciation.
I almost felt the same rage and grief when I heard and read about this. I just wonder that how can such ppl forget the difficulties we faced to get this freedom..how can they forget that the reasons of our fastest growing economy lies in the roots of " political integration of independent India" done by Sardar Patel.......
How can they be so dumb ........Or now which India they actually want to see tht too after already losing North Western India (Pakistan) and major chunk of West Bengal(Bangladesh).........
well I know thinking all this only is nt going to give any solution to this...We must have to think and act on some more fruitful solutions.......and here comes the black hole.....which makes me blind to find any hope in such a disgusting political environment of India....
Thanks again for such an agitating blog
Regards

Hi Munir,
This is the first and the last time I feel forced to reply to your rabid comments. All I want to say is as follows:
IF YOU HAVE SUCH CONVICTIONS, AT LEAST HAVE THE COURAGE OF YOUR CONVICTIONS AND USE YOUR CORRECT HINDU NAME. WHY TAKE REFUGE BEHIND THE COVER OF AN ADOPTED MUSLIM NAME? IF THAT IS YOUR FIG LEAF, LET ME TELL YOU THAT YOUR UGLY NAKEDNESS IS SHOWING.

Oh, So you are on the losing side Erad. That is good news. For as long as you and your ilk are on the losing side, India is safe.

Begum Raza/ERAD-ji,
u r wasting your valuable time with a pig headed anti-Indian! A subverted Hindu fool !!
Dont be mistaken and dont be under any delusion! Thugs like azmi are the main subjects of grave concern for every sane citizen of India!! The azmi-hasmi-khan-kalam types and kurien-cherien-dsouza-d'silva types have been plundering the citizens far too long even after colonialism technically ended in 1947.
Despite being educated makes one not have no iota of consideration, humanity or decency for the victims of millennium long islamic hate crimes against the Hindus and other colonially persecuted people. RajT is merely one out ofsuch a billion. If he as a strong willed, charismatic, dynamic and patriotic citizen stands up to the such thugs, why do the nuts blame him and not the criminal azmi? B/c they are nuts!!
Even after 1947, the Hindu citizens have
** no freedom from oppression,
** no peace of mind,
** no liberty from terror of thugs and their accomplice.
Is this fair? My Hindu buddies ask me:= "Why should we not feel sick and tired of the strain from living next to islamic thugs, from loss of lives and property?" Is that q asked NOT legitimate? I have given plenty of hard, clear, concrete evidence.

Hi
You are wrong again. Even Jesus Christ had to wield the whip to defend the good against evil.
In India people who are good human beings are always on the losing side. I don't mind being on the losing side as long as i am on the side of right.
Lastly for all that the Thackerays have said they were saving the lives of Sikhs when people where you come from were merrily butchering the Sikhs in 1984. You don't understand that in the final analysis people have to be judged by their actions, not by their words.
